On July 25 our CEO, Hidi Niioka, was invited to Kyushu University Business School’s Robert Huang Entrepreneurship Center (QREC) to lecture and facilitate a workshop on fundraising, and specifically preparation for Angel rounds, for MBA students and professors from Japan, China and Korea.
The students presented pitches on their business ideas, which were discussed and assessed. The winning pitches included an idea to create proteins from silkworms and the introduction of the Caribbean conch as a dietary alternative to squid. These were selected for the clarity of their concept, execution plans, and their analysis of and fitness for their target market.
It was exciting to see so many innovative business ideas from the students and the value the session had in clarifying the stages and milestones necessary to achieve a successful fundraising. The group had many questions and the session highlighted the need to equip entrepreneurs with this kind of knowledge and practice, so they can bring their inventions and innovations to the attention of investors globally.
